Barcelona - Where To Eat

Barcelona - Where To Eat

Spanish food. yuuuuuummmm... There are SO manny amazing places to eat in Barcelona, who knows where to start! All I knew was that all I wanted to do is eat as much traditional Spanish food as possible. You find yourself walking all day so forget those calories and just eat, eat, eat. Here are my picks:

La Boqueria Mercat: This food market is on La Rambla so is very easy to work into your day. It's buzzing with locals and tourists alike. There is market after market of Spanish dishes, meats, fruit and bright incredibly created sweet treats in all shapes and sizes (anything from lady bugs to KFC fries). It's quite hectic in there, so prepare for a crowd. Grab your food and take a seat outside of the market and eat as you watch the city move past you. TIP- don't buy everything at the front entry and you can find the same, cheaper stalls further inside. http://www.boqueria.info/index.php

El Nacional: El Nacional is an amazing food hub of four different eateries and four different bars where you can eat and drink traditional recipes from different Spanish regions. The food is made from fresh ingredients and is completely delicious- no matter which eatery you choose (you can of course try them all). El Nacional is situated in Passeig de Gràcia which is a great central location to work into your day or night. Not only is the food a feast for your tastebuds, the venue is also a feast for your eyes. It was built in 1889 and has had many different lives before becoming this stylish food hub. http://www.elnacionalbcn.com/en/

Teresa Carles: Now this place took me by surprise. My wife who is vegetarian convinced me to come here. I was appalled that I was in one of the meat capitals of the world and ended up at a vegetarian restaurant. But boy was I mistaken.... Vegetarian food done well is bloody good. Is a lovely short stroll from Praktik Rambla (if that's where you opt to stay), so it's perfect for a night where you are feeling tired from the pace of Barcelona's long days. http://teresacarles.com

Piscolabis: This is a casual dining experience offering yummy Spanish tapas. It's situated in a strip of other Spanish restaurants, but this one is worth a visit at lunchtime. The menu is huge and suits all tastebuds. http://www.piscolabisrestaurant.com
